150th Finding aid/guide, for the Vietnam Protest Petitions Collection

We are pleased to announce our 150th online finding aid/collection guide, for the Vietnam War Protest Petitions Collection. Thanks to Carter Rawson (and Rodney Obien all those years ago). The collaboration of Fr. John B. Sheerin and Fr. William Nerin was a controversial effort to influence government policy through a petition to recruit mainstream Catholic priests against the Vietnam War. The petition called for priests to abandon any neutral position over the actions of the military and to denounce the war from the pulpit. The collection provides candid testimony to this unprecedented effort through personal correspondence, polling data and news clippings. Please note that CUA Public Affairs has posted a press release.
