The Digital Dead Sea Scrolls now available online

As a result of a collaboration between the Israel Museum and Google, high resolution photos of five of the seven original Dead Sea Scrolls are now publicly available online. Users can page through different sections of each scroll, zoom in for a close look, or hover their cursor over the text to select specific verses and view a pop-up translation.  Each scroll’s page also includes history and commentary on the particular scrolls, its contents and/or its translations.  For further information about the Dead Sea Scrolls’ digitization, check out this list of articles at the Internet Scout Project, or view the scrolls directly through the Israel Museum’s website.

Here is a list of recent acquisitions of books in Mullen Library on the Dead Sea Scrolls.
