The ruptured water pipe near McMahon Hall has been replaced and water has been restored to the Crough Center, Shahan Hall, and Mullen Library. Water dependent cooling systems in Mullen are being checked and reset. We expect the Library to reopen at 5pm.
In the meantime please visit our other campus libraries, libraries.cua.edu/about/collecs.cfm.
We received reports regarding problems accessing the database “Standard & Poor’s” from off-campus. Now the problem is fixed. If you still cannot access it, please clear the cache in your browser and try again. If the problem continues, please submit a ticket to us. Sorry for the inconvenience!
CUA Libraries has e-books available online to our users. Most of them allow you to print and even download. Our librarian, Kristen Fredericksen, has created a guide to show you how to do this on different e-book platforms.
Effective Tuesday, January 17, 2012, certain areas of the Mullen Library will be open for student use 24 hours a day Monday through Thursday (excepting spring break and the Easter holidays). This means that when the Library opens for service at 8 am on a Monday, it will not close its doors until Friday evening at 10 pm. You will have to show your CUA Cardinal Card to enter the building between 11pm and 8am.
The CUA University Libraries are happy to welcome Howard University into the WRLC partnership.
Beginning January 9, CUA students, faculty and staff will be able to directly borrow from the Howard University Libraries. You may already notice that their records now appear in our basic shared catalog. Efforts are continuing to fully integrate their holdings into our more advanced discovery tools.
The librarians and library staff at CUA are looking forward to the new level of cooperation with our colleagues at Howard as we all strive to provide better services and access to research materials.
For more information, please see the official press release at the Howard University News Room.
