Howard University has joined the WRLC

The CUA University Libraries are happy to welcome Howard University into the WRLC partnership.

Beginning January 9, CUA students, faculty and staff will be able to directly borrow from the Howard University Libraries. You may already notice that their records now appear in our basic shared catalog. Efforts are continuing to fully integrate their holdings into our more advanced discovery tools.

The librarians and library staff at CUA are looking forward to the new level of cooperation with our colleagues at Howard as we all strive to provide better services and access to research materials.

For more information, please see the official press release at the Howard University News Room.

Library Scanning Cardinal Cards at Mullen Entrance

In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, faculty,  staff and collections, the library is now scanning Cardinal Cards at the entrance of Mullen library.  The new procedure is in place to ensure patrons admitted are legitimate.  Non-CUA visitors are welcome with proper photo identification and registration at the guard desk.  The library appreciates your patience and support as we implement this new procedure.

Current e-books available online

The Library has subscribed to a new service that will provide current e-books from major scholarly presses as they are published throughout the year.  About 3,000 books should be available by year’s end.  To see and access a list of the books acquired to date in 2011, go to the online catalog and do a keyword search for “NetLibrary 10th” limiting the location to Catholic. Individual titles are also accessible through the online catalog record for each book.  Try it out and let us know what you think!
