Trial Access to Business Source Complete

Business Source Complete  is available through September 31.  It is a comprehensive business periodical database–some argue that it is the most comprehensive business periodical database— that includes scholarly journals and business periodicals covering such topics as management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, and much more. The database contains full text from international top ranking journals including Harvard Business Review, Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, and Journal of Marketing Management.

Web of Science Demos on September 6

11 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., the University Libraries sponsor demonstration sessions for their new Web of Science (WoS) database in the Meric Classroom of the John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library. The demonstrations will be performed by training staff from Thomson Reuters. Refreshments and special raffle items will be available for attendees. WoS provides citations and references for articles in almost 9,000 high-quality, peer-reviewed journals published from 2002 to the present.  The database also features journal citation reports that identify the impact factor or importance of a journal within a specific subject area.

Nineteenth Century Collections Online: Primary Resources

Nineteenth Century Collections Online  (NCCO) provides full-text, fully searchable content from a wide range of primary sources for the “long” 19th century, 1789-1914. NCCO indexes the full text of books, newspapers, pamphlets, manuscripts, maps, diaries, photographs, statistics, literature, government reports, treaties, and other kinds of documents in both Western and non-Western languages.  Released incrementally beginning in 2012, NCCO’s first four topical collections include: British Politics and Society; Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange; British Theatre, Music, and Literature: High and Popular Culture; and European Literature, 1790-1840: The Corvey Collection.

Web of Science now available

Web of Science, a rich electronic resource,  is available through Catholic University of America Libraries.

Web of Science includes Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index.  It provides “Cited Reference Search” and subject searching through both “quick” and “advanced” searches. Our Web of Science subscription includes citations and references for articles in almost 9000 high quality, peer-reviewed journals published from 2002 to the present. Web of Science provides complete bibliographic data, searchable author abstracts, and cited references. Coverage is in the sciences (more than 6000 journals), followed by social sciences (approximately 1800 journals), and arts and humanities (approximately 1100 journals). For impact factor information about specific journals, users are directed to the index “Journal Citation Reports.”
